‘Canes Lose Final Game to Putnam

’CANE OFFENSE MOVES THE BALL AFTER HANDOFF

The Monticello Hurricanes football team ended their season on a low note to rival Putnam County 49-7.

The ’Canes began the night honoring the senior fall sports players and band members.

Once the game began, the ’Cane offense did well moving the ball down the field. The offensive line pictured above, show Jacob Cavender (14) handing the ball to Patrick Clement (33) while the offensive line, made up of Tra Jackson (5), Chadarius Greene (65), Jamari Myrick (56), Chris Anglin (62), Luck Zeck (61), and Thomas Deraney (20) tried to create running space.

The ’Canes hustled hard and initially the match-up seemed to be equal on the initial drive.

In the end, the ’Canes came up short.

In addition to the game, Friday, Dairy Queen hosted Hurricane Spirit Day where 10 percent of all receipt totals donated went to support all Jasper County Middle and High School athletes.

Chris Jenkins, athletic director, said, “We really appreciate Dairy Queen’s support and all the people who participated.”

Dairy Queen hosted a similar event last month, which was also very successful.
