Shop ‘Small’ Saturday In Monticello
This Saturday, Nov. 24, Monticello is joining retailers across the nation in “Shop Small” day. It’s a shopping day to support small businesses, small towns.
American Express is promoting Shop Small and Support Local Business, and we at The Monticello News and the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce jumped on the bandwagon, as that is our message every day.
This Saturday merchants across the community are offering special promotions to encourage locals and visitors to shop with them. In addition, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on the Square from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to hear children’s Christmas wishes, and a photographer will be available to capture that special moment.
A special section inside today’s paper highlights many of the offerings. It’s a great opportunity for people to visit in their community, see what local shops have to offer and find out what a pleasure it is to do business here. Many stores offer free gift wrap, and virtually all offer a smile and friendly hello.
