4-H Archery Program Is Under Way

JASPER COUNTY ARCHERS ATTEND FIRST PRACTICE

After a couple of months of promotion, the Jasper County 4-H archery team has started its 2012-2013 season with the first practice that was held on Sunday afternoon at the Jasper County Middle School practice field. Twelve team members attended along with their parents and volunteer coaches.

Our new 4-H archery team members include Claire Taylor, Michael Clendenin, Brandon Lenox, Avery Jacobs, and Halie Clemons. Returning members include Anna Scarbrough, Ansley Atkinson, Anna Whittle, Carolyn Pascale, Grayson Bradley, Kayla Henderson, Kirsten Pettis, Seth Pettis, and Tayler Bowden.

The team will be under the direction of head coach Gretchen Pruett along with coaches Greg Atkinson, John Clemons, Liz Caldwell, Rocco Pascale, Cliff Bowden, and Hung Cole.

The team will practice weekly (with a few exceptions) on Sunday afternoons from 2:30–3:30 p.m. at the JCMS practice field through April.

The state indoor archery tournament is in Perry on Saturday, Feb. 23, and the state match is at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center near Eatonton on Saturday, May 4.

Other optional tournaments will be held in the spring in Morgan and Putnam Counties.
