CHRISTMAS TIME

Many beautiful Christmas decorations can be seen throughout Jasper County, and they’re more impressive in person than in a photo, but The Monticello News would like to share a few of the lovely homes with our readers this week and next.

The nativity scene (above, right) which depicts the real meaning of Christmas—that of the birth of Jesus Christ, can be seen from the road on Hwy. 212 west of Monticello. In addition, numerous other homes along Hwy. 212 are decorated, and lots of light displays can be seen in Turtle Cove and elsewhere.

These photos were taken in those areas. If anyone would like to share a photo of their Christmas decorations, or their child with Santa, or other special Christmas photo, please send it to news@themonticellonews.com as soon as possible.

We will feature some of the photos next week in our edition that includes children’s letters to Santa Claus and Christmas greetings from merchants, and especially those last minute sales that will be taking place before the big day.
