Teens Plead Not Guilty
Two Monticello teenagers charged in the drive-by shooting of a juvenile in Eatonton on November 9 were indicted on one count each of aggravated assault by a Putnam County Grand Jury, according to a report in The Eatonton Messenger.
Trey Christopher Britt, 17, and Jaylin Tyree Thurman, 18, both of Monticello were indicted in late December. Mr. Britt’s attorney waived arraignment for him Tuesday, basically entering a not-guilty plea, while Mr. Thurman appeared in court, pled not-guilty and said he would hire his own attorney.
Stephen Bradley, chief assistant district attorney of the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, said the cases against the remaining three teens who were in the car at the time of the shooting are still under consideration, the story said.
