Middle School Cougars Win Over Brentwood

The Piedmont Academy Middle School Cougars defeated Brentwood 27-23 Monday on the road.

Wyatt Galloway scored 13 points to lead Piedmont while Mack Brady added nine and Michael Edwards finished with four.

Previously, Edwards scored seven points to pace the Piedmont Academy Middle School boys basketball team against Flint River last Friday.

The Cougars fell 34-20 in the Friday contest despite Joseph Anderson and Brady both adding four points. Zach Mooney and Galloway added two points each while Jordan Pace contributed a free throw.

The Middle School Lady Cougars fell 24-16 to Flint River Friday. Mattie Burnham and MaKennah Holifield led Piedmont with six points while Anne Marie Hildebrant and Lucy Tuggle both scored two points.

The Lady Cougars also returned to action Monday at Brentwood in Sandersville. The Piedmont girls fell 25-20 despite nine points from Burnham. O’Neil Sealy finished with four points while Holifield added three and Ashley Johnston scored two. Mattie Johnston and Tuggle added free throws.

The Middle School teams will travel to Gatewood Jan. 24 for games beginning at 6 p.m.
