Lady Cougars Win

A 15-point effort from Hailey Burnham helped the Piedmont Academy Lady Cougars to a 36-30 region win against Flint River Friday.

In the home contest, the Lady Cougars trailed 15-12 at halftime but had moved in front 28-23 after the third quarter.

Heather Tyler added eight points for Piedmont while Lucy Stickland finished with seven points. Anna Jones scored four points while Kacy Swart added two.

The Piedmont boys fell 35-32 to Flint River in a closely contested region game. Logan Partenza led the Cougars with 10 points while Chandler Burrell and Zach Beggs both scored nine.

Britton Bailey and Drew Collins both finished with two points.

The Piedmont teams will return to action Friday, Jan. 25 when they host Harvester Christian at 6 p.m. Piedmont will then host Furtah Prep Saturday beginning at 2 p.m.
