PLAY BALL

Registration for youth ball has been extended until March 1 with no penalty for late sign-up. Persons can sign up at the Recreation Department, 246 Ted Sauls Road or from their home.

Registration is being done online at Jaspercorec.com. Youth ages three to 16 are eligible to play, with three and four year old wee ball and five and six year old tee-ball being co-ed. Boys’ baseball and girls’ softball begins at age seven.

Coaches are needed for all age groups so anyone interested in coaching should contact Wes Chester at 706-468-4916.

In addition, umpires will be needed, and anyone interested in helping should contact the recreation department.

The recreation commission has a called meeting planned for this Friday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Extension office at 162 N. Warren Street. Interested persons are invited to attend.
