Arnold Hyde
Arnold Hyde, 83, of Monticello died Tuesday, February 5, 2013.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was an elementary school principal for the Atlanta Public School System for 30+ years. Mr. Hyde was a church pianist at many churches, most recently, Turner United Methodist Church in McDonough.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson J. and Dorothy B. Hyde, and brother, E. Ray Hyde.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Maryanne Waters Hyde of MOnticello; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Darrell Young; son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Deloris Hyde; grandchildren, April Young, Perry M. Hyde, Ryan Young, Kris Hyde, Ashley Kelly and husband, Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Madison Kelly, Jacob Baker, and Jaxon Kelly.
Funeral services for Mr. Hyde are scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., in Covington, with Revs. Leon Baxter and Gary Boggs officiating. Interment will follow in the William Payne Cemetery, Monticello.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday. Feb. 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
