Mildred Ann Niblett James

Mildred Ann Niblett James, 72, of Hillsboro, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at The Retreat Nursing Home.

Ann James was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Her parents were the late Edward Shannon Niblett and Polly Inez Pope Niblett. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. James loved gardening and was especially talented at growing orchids. She loved to quilt and was an active member of the Busy Bees group that sews quilts and blankets for Project Linus. She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. James began working with the Farmers National Bank in the 1970s as a bank teller and retired from the McIntosh State Bank Operations Center in Jackson as a proof operator after 32 years of service. Prior to her job with McIntosh, Mrs. James worked for a few years at Monticello Manufacturing. Along with her parents, Mrs. James was preceded in death by her husband, Don Elwood James and brother, Edward Shannon “Jack” Niblett, Jr.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sandra James of Hillsboro; granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Holly and Joey Tinney and Emily James of Hillsboro; great-grandchildren, Hannah Tinney, Eli Tinney, Bentley Tinney, and Isabella Grace Harden; and brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Helen Niblett of Angleton, Texas.

The family will receive friends from Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, from 3 until 5 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.

Funeral services are planned for Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with interment in Fullerton Memorial Gardens. Wayne Grier will officiate.

Pallbearers are Robin Laudicina, Melvin McDonald, Bud Greenway, Will Grier, Preston Wynens, and Joe McMichael.

The family suggests donations, in lieu of flowers, to The Retreat Nursing Home, 898 College Street, Monticello, GA 31064.
