‘Canes Lose to Northease in Playoffs
The ’Canes basketball team lost to Northeast Macon Tuesday night in the first night of region playoffs 57-50. They held their own in a fast paced close game, but came up just short in the end.
“
We shot very well from the free throw line but couldn’t capitalize when needed. Throughout the game we played well, we just didn’t come out on top in the end,” said Head Coach Earnst Scott. He along with the assistant coaches and team members wish to thank all of the fans for their continued support.
Qua Thurmond led the ‘Canes scoring with 18 points and 10 rebounds, recording his 16th Double-Double of the season. He was followed by Jaylan Sands with 12 points, Jordan Stone 7, Darnell Pennamon and Quintavious Sanders each added 4, Jakari Middlebrooks and Jaquavious Standifer each had 2 points and Tra Jackson chipped in one point.
The Lady ’Canes were to face Putnam Co. last night in Macon Co., after this edition was printed.
