Kevin Lamar Camp
Kevin Lamar Camp, 19, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, in Ailey, Ga. after an accident.
Mr. Camp was born in Conyers, and he and his family moved to Jasper County when he was three years old. He played football and baseball for Monticello Hurricanes and graduated from Jasper County High School in 2012. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved fishing; playing and watching all sports; and loved the University of Georgia Bulldogs. After graduating high school, Mr. Camp was attending Brewton-Parker College and playing on the Barons baseball team.
His grandfather, Bobby Joe Camp, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his parents, Steven Kenneth Camp and Karen Mines Camp of Shady Dale; brothers, Kyle Camp and Kody Camp, also of Shady Dale; grandparents, Patsy Mines of Shady Dale, Larry and Judy Mines of Pine Lake, and Frank and Judy Ligrnetta of Blairsville; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Monticello Baptist Church, with interment in the Lorraine Assembly of God Church Cemetery, Union Church Road, Conyers. Rev. Paul Miller will officiate.
Pallbearers included Tony Dalton, Justin Womack, William Hewell, Eddie Camp, Mitchell Bishop, and Patrick Clemons. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Brewton-Parker College baseball team.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Kevin Camp Fund at the Bank of Monticello, P.O. Box 29, Monticello, GA 31064.
