Last Person Sentenced in Susie Q’s Armed Robbery
Nicholas Standifer, who had previously refused to plea on the charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault (two counts), and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime stemming from the armed robbery of Susie Q’s Convenience Store on Hwy. 11 North in January of 2012, was back in Superior Court Tuesday, with Judge Hulane E. George, presiding.
Mr. Standifer pled guilty to the reduced charges of robbery and one count of aggravated assault, and was sentenced to 10 years with two years to be served in confinement, with no credit for time served, the remainder to be served on probation and restitution of $1,300.
The court determined that Mr. Standifer had also violated his probation on the prior charge of forgery and he was sentenced to three years to serve with credit for time served since October 5, 2010, to be served concurrent with the 10 year sentence. He was released after sentencing and is due to turn himself in to the Jasper County jail on Monday, March 11, by 6 p.m.
