The Monticello Hurricane boys soccer team had a 5-1 loss to Putnam last Friday at Rose Bowl Field. Jose Ortiz scored the lone goal for the ’Canes in what was a competitive match throughout.

The girls team took a 7-0 loss as well Friday when they hosted Putnam. Gabriela Bautista, a senior, receives a pass during the Putnam game. The girls lost to Bleckley County Monday, 4-0.

The ’Canes soccer teams were to face Baldwin yesterday, with no results available at press time and at Lamar County, Friday, March 22. Soccer coaches are Amanda Paulk and Michael Cooper.
