Minor Incidents Are Reported this Week

There were only three minor incidents of crime in the county during the last week, according to information received from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).  

On April 8 a resident on Alcovy Street in Alcovy Shores reported the theft of a metal box containing the title for a Ford Ranger and a Saturn L200, two birth certificates and other assorted papers.  On April 7 a resident on Inlet Lane reported the theft of a tag from a boat trailer, and on April 2 a resident on Yancey Road reported the theft of a GA license plate number TLOKJ28.

In addition, during the period of April 2-9 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Kelly Maire Meadows, 26, Covington—hold for warrant at Covington Police Department.

•Lori Smith Joyner, 44, Mansfield—simple battery.

•Justin Kent Smith, 22, Mansfield—simple battery.

•Charles Dennis Stanton, 59, Mansfield—simple battery.

•Roberto Torres Williams, 40, Shady Dale—child support.

•Ricardo Carrabal Delgado, 29, Oxford—failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving while unlicensed.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 237 calls for service including 113 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 17 checking location, 16 alarm, 10 subject needs officer, and eight each accident and attempt to serve warrant.

Also, six argument, five theft by taking, four mechanical break down, three each courtesy ride, livestock on road and trouble unknown, two each burglary, domestic, speeding auto, intoxicated driver, wanted/stolen indicated, private property, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls and 911 hang up.

Also, one each prowler report, fire, child abuse/molestation, deliver emergency message, extra patrol, four wheeler, discharge firearms shooting, vandalism of property, trespassing, lost property identity fraud/theft and stroke.

The Monticello Police Department (MPD) did not report any arrests during this period, however officers did respond to 41 calls for service including 12 stopping suspicious person/vehicle and five attempt to serve warrant.

Also, three each alarm, accident and juvenile complaint, two each theft by taking and seizure, one each hit and run, escort or convoy, mechanical break down, fall, extra patrol, welfare check subject needs officer, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint, property found and road hazard.
