Virginia Ivalee Ledford Mason

Virginia Ivalee Ledford Mason, 95, died Friday, October 11, 2013, at The Retreat Nursing Home.

Mrs. Mason was born in Franklin, N.C. to the late Fred Herschel Ledford and Dora Elsie Poindexter Ledford. She and her late husband, Loyal Thomas Mason, moved to Jasper County in 1948 from Burningtown, N.C. She was a member of New Rocky Creek Baptist Church. Before retirement, Mrs. Mason was a seamstress in the garment industry. She was preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Helen and Tom Kitchens of Wrightsville, Charles and Debbie Mason of Mansfield, and Kenneth and Marcia Mason of Monticello; grandchildren, Gwen Goins, Kim Kitchens, Rhonda Albright, Todd Mooney, Tim Mooney, Kevin Mason, Keith Mason, Ken Mason, and Kahle Mason; great- grandchildren, Blair Mason, Amber Mooney, Blake Anglin, Zachary Mooney, Ashton Mooney, Lane Mason, Magen Mason McMichael, Tyler Mason, Kahla Mason, Kylee Mason, Kaden Loyal Mason, Luke Jackson and Paige Jackson, Nathaniel Kitchens, Christopher Kitchens, Adrienne Albright.

Also, great-great-grandchildren, Tiffany Mason, Addison Spear, and Millie Jackson; and brothers, John Ledford and Herschel Ledford of Charlotte, N.C., Jack Ledford of Wilmington, N.C.; and Clinton Ledford of Franklin, N.C.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at New Rocky Creek Baptist Church in Mansfield. Interment will be held in New Rocky Creek Church Cemetery. Dr. Randal Reese will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Kim Kitchens, Ken Mason, Jr., Kahle Mason, Todd Mooney, Kevin Mason, and Keith Mason.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the New Rocky Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 190 Rocky Creek Road, Mansfield, GA 30055.
