Jan Gaston Is Football Contest Winner

Just two weeks ago, veteran football contest player Joel Gaston won the contest, by correctly guessing the winner of 14 of the 15 games listed.
Well, his wife, Jan, was not to be outdone. This week she is the winner of The Monticello News football contest, and she accepted her prize from Allen Schrock at Allen’s Auto Repair, on Hwy. 11 south, sponsor of the week.
Mrs. Gaston only got 12 right, but that was enough to win the prize and have her name added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll.
It was a tough contest week, what with the Georgia Bulldogs being upset and all, so only Mrs. Gaston and Eddie Ray Tyler have their names added to the honor roll for this week. And, less than a half dozen others got as many as 11 right. Maybe this week will be easier.
Anyone can enter, and anyone can win. And, whoever gets 12 or more right has his or her name entered into the grand prize drawing for a premium ticket package to the Chick-fil-a Bowl in Atlanta.
All you have to do is guess the winners of the 15 games listed—a combination of high school, college and pro, and submit your entry to The Monticello News, 237 West Washington Street, no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 18.
Entries may be faxed to 706-468-6576. Complete contest rules are on page 16.
One lucky or skillful player will get a prize worth $25 from State Representative Susan Holmes, sponsor of the week. But remember, you can’t win if you don’t enter.
