Halloween Festivities Abound
Today, Oct. 31, is Halloween and little ghosts and goblins, zombies and ghouls, princesses and fairies will trek around the Monticello Square from 4:30 to 6 p.m. as part of Haunticello.
Merchants and others on and off the Square will give out sweet treats to the children and they may even get some punch along the way. And there’s always a chance scary characters will be about.
A costume contest will be held on the Square at 5:30 p.m.
Contact the Chamber of Commerce, 706-468-8994 for details. Today is the last night for the Haunted House at the American Legion. The fire house in Shady Dale will be transformed into a fall festival area for one night only. Several area churches have special activities planned, and there were plenty of activities last weekend.
It’s a spooky good kick-off to the Deer Festival weekend with the 47th annual Deer Festival set for Saturday, Nov. 2.
