Marilyn Mitchell

Marilyn Mitchell, who was born January 21, 1956 to Cooley Frank and Hattie Mae Williams, died October 17, 2013.

Funeral services were held October 23 at Greenwood Baptist Church in Shady Dale.

Mrs. Mitchell was a 1974 graduate of Jasper County High School and she joined Sardis C.M.E. Church at an early age.

She was married to Oscar Lee Mitchell for 37 years prior to her death.

Her father father, Cooley Frank, and a son, Joseph Mitchell, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her mother; sons, Mazzetti Mitchell and Mario Mitchell; sister, Carolyn Williams; brothers, Rev. Jerry Williams, all of Monticello, and Johnny Williams of Juliette; grandchildren, Ashunti, Jordan, Jaylon, Cadien, Amiya, Rihanna, and Kylie; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
