Veterans’ Breakfast Is Planned
The Jasper County Senior Citizens Center is planning its annual tribute to the veterans of Jasper County on Friday, Nov. 8, from 9-11 a.m. at the Center on Hwy. 212 West.
The Veterans Tribute Breakfast is the Center’s annual homage for the contributions and service our local veterans have given to our country. Many of the veterans in attendance are current members of the Center or have been members in the past.
The program will include a salute by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department, remarks by Sgt. Major Billy Connelly, words of appreciation by State Rep. Susan Holmes, Sen. Burt Jones and taps will be played by local veteran Sandra Shockley. All veterans are invited to the breakfast tribute.
Local contributions last year helped the center feed more than 40 veterans and their guests.
The Center would appreciate a donation of any of the items listed below to help us have a successful tribute to our veterans.

Breakfast items needed include eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, pancake mix & syrup, grits, biscuits, orange juice, fruit, coffee, butter or other breakfast items.
