Mat ‘Canes Are Off To Great Start

The 2013-2014 Monticello Mat Canes are off to a great start. Last Saturday was the season opener at Walnut Grove High School where they showed off all their hard work and dedication. They placed first overall as a team, beating Lithonia High School, Walnut Grove and Monroe Area. Several of the guys went undefeated.

The JV team traveled to Rockdale High School where they had several tournament placers, including Austin Peek who placed second, Niall Al Hasi who placed third and Zack Crumbliss and placed fourth. The team was to travel to Jackson High School Tuesday, and then have a home meet on Thursday.

The team includes Lily Shaw (manager), Chris Anglin, Tyler Seawright, Chase Helms, Morgane Rice (Manager), Lucas Holbrook, Justin Tyler (Captain), Emery Cline (Captain), Noah Stubbs, Austin Woods, Nick Harris, Dean Smith, Payton Hardwood, Tristan Harper, Cameron Gentry and Harley Alter.
