Four Contest Players Get 13 Right
And then there was one…that’s right, there’s just one more week to qualify for the grand prize honor roll that will have one lucky player ending up with a four ticket package to the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve.
But this week, the next-to-the-last week, some 16 people qualified for the honor roll, making themselves eligible, or eligible again, to win the grand prize.
This week’s prize winner, Dalton Edwards, and three others correctly guessed the winner in 13 of the 15 games listed last week. However, Mr. Edwards guessed that 50 points would be scored in the Ga. Bulldawgs 41-34 win over the Yellow Jackets of Ga. Tech.
The other three players to get 13 right—Timmy Cargile, Janet Davis, and David Wease—all guessed lower scores. Interestingly, only two of the top four finishers picked Alabama to win, and two picked Auburn to win. Three chose Ga. over Tech.
Mr. Edwards collected a $25 prize from Justin Dearro at Covington Ford, prize sponsor for the week. Wes Crowe, manager of the Monticello branch of Covington Ford, is a big Ga. Tech fan…perhaps a little unhappy at the turn of events on Saturday.
Mr. Edwards says he plays the contest every week with his co-workers from Frank’s Restaurant. They fax their entries in each week, as do several work places.
Whether you’ve been playing all year, or just want to jump in now…come on, take a chance. It costs nothing, and there’s lots to win. This week’s winner will collect a $25 prize from Hamilton State Bank.
All you have to do is complete the contest entry, or write your answers on plain paper, and submit to The News no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 6. You can submit in person or by fax. Complete rules are on page 11 of today’s print edition.
