Man Is Charged withTrafficking Meth

Joshua Shane Chaffin of Jackson was arrested and charged with trafficking of methamphetamine and sale of methamphetamine after his vehicle was stopped in the area of Turbo Drive and Jackson Lake Road in the early hours of Friday, Dec. 20, according to a report from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

The arrest brought to an end a three-month long drug investigation by the JCSO, the report said.

The investigation yielded the seizure of more than a quarter pound of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of more than $13,000.

Sheriff Pope believes that the drug trade fuels all types of crimes. This investigation was one of many that were conducted in 2013 in an effort to lower the overall crime rate in our county. The goal of the Sheriff’s Office continues to be to provide the citizen of Jasper County with the most professional and proactive law enforcement services possible, said Sheriff Pope.
