Henry Vance Goolsby, Jr.
A celebration of life for Henry Vance Goolsby, Jr. will be held on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Concord Primitive Baptist Church, 170 Concord Road, Monticello, with interment in Concord Church Cemetery. Elder H.G. Terry, will officiate.
Mr. Goolsby, known to many as “Lil Jr.” was born to the late Henry Vance Goolsby, Sr. and Mamie Lee Epps Goolsby of Macon. On December 28, 2013, after an illness, he died at his residence in Macon.
His son, Cavion Goolsby and grandmother, Laura Catchings, preceded him in death.
Mr. Goolsby received his formal education in the Bibb County School System. He worked for many years as a roofer and as a cook in several restaurants.
Survivors include a daughter, Alexis Goolsby of Macon; mother, Mrs. Mamie L. Goolsby; three brothers: Rodney Goolsby, Keith Carter and Fredrick Lee Carter (Annie) all of Macon; three sisters: Teresa and Tomeca Goolsby, both of Macon, and Cassandra White of Monticello, five aunts and one uncle in Monticello, and an aunt in Macon and a host of other relatives, friends and Boulevard neighbors.
