MS Lady Cougars Post Win

The Piedmont Academy Middle School girls basketball team began the second half of the 2013-2014 season on a positive note by defeating visiting Nathanael Greene Saturday 22-21.

Kirkley Holifield led the team with a game-high 12 points while Madison McCart added six points. Jordan Camp and O’Neil Sealy both finished with two points.

The Lady Cougars trailed by 11 points at halftime but used a strong second half to rally for the victory. Coach Heather Suwinski’s team scored 12 points in the final quarter to complete the rally.

Piedmont’s Middle School boys had an eight-point game from Tate Marks, including two 3-pointers, but fell 33-28 to Nathanael Greene.

Sam Wright and Jordan Pace both finished with five points while J.T. Webb scored four and Dylan Coe added three. Browning Benton scored a basket in the fourth quarter.

Piedmont’s Middle School teams will return to action Jan. 14 against Macon Area at home beginning at 3:30 p.m.
