Copper Is Stolen from Feldspar Plant
On Monday, Jan. 6, approximately $5,000 worth of copper wiring was stolen from the Feldspar Clay Plant on Feldspar Road, according to information received from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
Three other criminal incidents were reported during the last week as follows. Anyone with information concerning these, or any other criminal activity, is encouraged to call the JCSO anonymous tips line at 706-468-JCSO:
•On January 6 a resident on Hwy 83 South reported that his back door had been kicked in, and that a pair of diamond ear rings and Hydrocodone pills were stolen.
•On December 30 a resident on Partridge Court in Turtle Cove reported the theft of a shotgun which had occurred on October 30, 2013.
•On January 3 the owner of a property on Aikenton Road reported that two trailers had been previously stolen.
Also, during the period of December 30, 2013 to January 7, 2014, the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Melissa Leigh Loggins, 33, Monticello—Jasper County Magistrate Court Bench Warrant.
•John Daniel Wood, 34, Shady Dale—parole violation.
•Craig Clifton Johnson, 43, Monticello—possession of a Schedule II substance, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and theft by taking.
•Kevin Alfred Lamondo, 51, Monticello—probation violation.
•Austin Damiean Dunlap, 19, Monticello—probation violation.
•Joshua Javon Campbell, 24, Monticello—probation violation.
•Alicia Marie Cates, 36, Monticello—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 150 calls for service including 45 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 15 alarm, 10 mechanical break- down, nine subject needs officer, seven assist motorist, six each accident, domestic, theft by taking and road hazard, five each welfare check and checking location.
Also, three courtesy ride, two each burglary, pick up prisoner/subject, wanted/stolen indicated, four wheeler, child custody case and juvenile complaint, one each dog disturbance, subject with firearms, escort or convoy, utility department needed, fall, child abuse/molestation, assault, discharge firearms, private property, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, trespassing and 911 hang up.
The Monticello Police Department (MPD) did not report any arrests during this period, however, officers with the MPD responded to 39 calls for service including seven escort or convoy, four each alarm and stopping suspicious person/vehicle, two each accident, utility department needed, discharge firearms and persons refuse to leave, one each fight, prowler report, burglary, subject with firearms, fire alarm, diabetic, welfare check, juvenile complaint, trouble unknown, shoplifter, vandalism of property, checking location, argument and fraud/theft by deceiving.
In addition, during the period mentioned above the Georgia State Patrol reported the following two arrests in Jasper County:
•Monica Renee Bostic, 34, Monticello—failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Jennifer Yvette Green, 37, Monticello—suspended/canceled/revoked registration, driving on a limited driving permit and tire violation.
