Evelyn Juanita Miller McMichael

Evelyn Juanita Miller McMichael, 84, died Thursday, January 9, 2014, at The Retreat Nursing Home.

Evelyn McMichael was born on January 10, 1929 in Milledgeville, to the late Henry Thomas Miller and Lizzie Missouri Miller. She and her late husband, Valvard “Bull” Elliott McMichael owned and operated a cattle farm. She was a member of Enon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Cohen Jason Sumner; and sister and brothers, Edna Miller, Weyman Miller, Harvey Miller, and Jimmy Miller.

Mrs. McMicahel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Martha McMichael of Monticello; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Smith of Flovilla; grandchildren, Tommy (Kelly) McMichael, Val McMichael, Natalie (Kenny) Sumner, Sally (Steven) Jarratt, and Rhett Smith; great grandchildren, Larkin McMichael, Hamilton McMichael, Reid McMichael, and Braden Sumner; and sister, Sue Reeves of Bishop.

Funeral services will be held at Saturday, January 11, 2014, at 11a.m. the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Interment will be held in West View Cemetery. Rev. Jeremy Tondee will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Sumner, Steven Jarratt, Rhett Smith, Tommy McMichael, Tom Miller, Jerry Miller.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014, at Jordan Funeral Home.

The family suggests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Enon Baptist Church, P.O. Box 265, Monticello, Georgia 31064.
