Metal Gates Are Stolen
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) took a report on January 28 from a property owner on Blackwell Road that his 12 foot metal cattle gates had been stolen. Also, on February 1 it was reported that metal thieves hit a residence on Holloway Hollow Road and made off with metal fence panels and a metal hay ring.

•On February 3 a resident on Rocky Creek Ridge reported the theft of a vehicle with an estimated value of $11,500.
•On February 1 a resident on County Line Road reported the theft of a GA license plate (PBT 2665).
•On January 31 a property owner on Kline Road, Shady Dale reported the theft of airplane, tractor and vehicle models in boxes.

•On January 30 a citizen reported a burglary from storage units on Jackson Lake Road of a tool box with copper pieces, rigid shelving, garbage disposal, extension cords and copper piping at an estimated value of $1,600.
•On January 28 a resident on Oriole Circle in Turtle Cove reported the theft of a cordless drill and various model trains.
Also, during the period of January 28 through February 4 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
•Michael Paul Stout, 29, Covington—probation violation.
•Richard Lee Williams, 48, Newborn—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Maria Ladell Hutcheson, 26, Newborn—probation violation.
•Jeremy Michael Gower, 23, Covington—probation violation.
•Tawanna Leaf Lane, 38, Monticello—probation violation.
•Ronald Lee Mosley, 55, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Timothy Allan Varnadoe, 34, Monticello—simple battery.
•Stephanie Brooke Thomson, 29, Monticello—simple battery.
•Mark Anthony Johnson, 26, Mansfield—Jasper County Magistrate Court failure to appear bench warrant.
•Timothy Lynwood, Jr., 25, Monticello—simple battery and cruelty to children in the third degree.
•Darren Mitchell Greer, 49, Griffin—probation violation.
•David Allen Nash, Jr., 25, Social Circle—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 147 calls for service including 32 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 15 each accident and subject needs officer, seven alarm, six pick up prisoner/subject, five each courtesy ride, escort or convoy and threatening/harassing calls, four each theft by taking and argument, three each domestic, assist motorist, mechanical breakdown, wanted/stolen indicated, welfare check, four wheeler and checking location, two each fight, burglary, livestock on road, trouble unknown, vandalism, sex offender check and attempt to serve warrant.
During this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrest of Jackie LeHamp Griggs, 25, of Monticello and charged her with forgery in the first degree.
Also during this period, officer with the MPD responded to 69 calls for service including 14 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, nine subject needs officer, eight escort or convoy, five courtesy ride, four accident, three fight; two each trouble unknown, noise complaint, vandalism of property and argument.
