ROAD CONSTRUCTION CONTINUES

This shot of West Washington Street, or Hwys. 16 and 212 just west of the Dairy Queen shows some of the work taking place in widening the road.

The project began some time ago, first with the acquisition of land from property owners along the road. In the last week or two, several utility poles have been moved back, and work is evident along the path of the road widening.

The Department of Transportation project goes from Ingles to just past Burney Drive towards the Monticello Square, and will include an extension of Persons Street to 147 Street.
