Residents Reports Jewelry Is Stolen

On March 19 approximately $3,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen from a residence on Barnes Mountain Road. The items listed on the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Incident Report included a Jasper County 2005 class ring, seven gold chains, several sets of gold hoop earrings, a white gold cluster ring with a blue topaz, a birthstone ring, a diamond ring, two antique crucifix necklaces and a pair of gold earrings with pearls.

Three other criminal incidents were reported by the JCSO as follows:

•On March 24 a resident on Bethel Church Road reported the theft of bank checks.

•On March 22 a resident on Magpie Court in Turtle Cove reported the theft of cable TV box.

•On March 22 a property owner on Hwy 11 North reported the theft of a cast iron sink and a cast iron pedestal tub.

Also, during the period of March 18-25 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•Taylor Meagan Jones, 19, Monticello—possession of meth with intent to distribute, drugs not kept in original container and possession of a controlled substance.

•William Matthew Smith, 23, Monticello—probation violation.

•Raquale Leigh Reagin, 22, Monticello—obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

•Allie Nichole Moore, 29, Monticello—battery.

•Bradley Joseph Klepsig, 26, Monticello—battery.

•Kenneth Franklin Reid, 43, Covington—possession of meth and possession of drug related objects.

•Dipika Balvantghai Patel, 32, Madison—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to stop at stop sign, open container and driving on the wrong side of the roadway.

•Kelsy Christopher Underwood, 30, Social Circle—Jasper County Probate Court bench warrant.

•Martin Cervanties, 41, Buckhead—obstruction or hindering law enforcement law officers and pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Blake Andrew Smith, 20, Lizella—expired tag and possession of marijuana less than 1 oz.

•Lewis Edward Stevens, III, 23, Roberta—possession of marijuana less than 1 oz.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 296 calls for service including 133 checking location, 66 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, and 12 subject needs officer.

During this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrest of Walker Dewayne Williams, 32, of Monticello, and charged him with aggravated assault after a confrontation in Sanders Heights last Friday.

Also arrested by the city in the past week, include:

•Julius Chester Wilkins, 74, Monticello—giving false name or address to law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended or revoked and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Anthony Rydell Dennis, 47, Monticello—driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and open container.

Also during this period officers with the MPD responded to 91 calls for service including 35 escort or convoy, and numerous other calls.
