Mayford Loyd Spivey

Mayford Loyd Spivey, age 83, of Monticello, formerly of Decatur, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at The Retreat Nursing Home.

Mayford Spivey was born in Ellijay, GA to the late Sollie Spivey and Annie Parks Spivey. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Before retirement, he was a plumber for the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 72 for over 50 years.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Ann Spivey of Monticello; grandchildren, Brooke Lenderman, Leigh Ann Spivey, and Colt Spivey; and great-grandchildren, McKayla Lenderman, and Micah Cook.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Rindy Trouteaud will officiate.
