Lady ‘Cane Tracksters Are First

The Monticello High School Lady ’Cane Track 4x100m Relay Team finished first at the State Track Sectionals Saturday, with the ladies qualifying for the state meet that will be held May 1-3 in Albany.

The relay team finished with a time of 49.53 and is made up of Destiny Glawson, Janee Chapman, Tierra Whitlock, and Alkeili Ross.

High Jump – 5’2”

300m Hurdles – 46.32 (Her time qualified as a National Elite Time.)

4x400m Relay – 4:16

200m Dash – 26.38

Meagan Roberts had previously qualified in the pole vault, but sustained an ankle injury that prevented her from competing on Saturday.

Freshman Jay Johnson jumped 21’5.75” in the long jump to qualify for the boy’s state meet. Brandon Stewart also competed on Saturday in the 1600m and 800m Run.

The boys meet will be held in Jefferson May 8-10.
