Golf Tourney Set Wednesday

The Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce will hold its 24th annual golf tournament next Wednesday, May 7, at Hunter Pope Country Club on Hwy. 83 north of Monticello, with a 1 p.m. tee time.

There is still time to sign up to play or even to sponsor a hole or give a door prize.

If anyone gets a hole in one on hole #18, he or she will win a year’s lease on a brand new Ford from Covington Ford. In addition, there are closest to the pin prizes on every par 3.

The entry fee is $40 per person, or sponsor a hole and a team for $175. Hole sponsors are $50. Mulligan packages are available.

After the tournament, a cook-out will be held with hamburgers and hotdogs, baked beans, cole slaw and chips, with several beverages available.
