Retirement Reception Set for ‘Mr. El’

Morad El-Jourbagy, Jasper County Schools’ Technology Director and long-time science teacher, will be honored during a retirement celebration and reception on Monday, May 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Jasper County Middle School Conference Room (the old health occupations room).

Mr. El-Jourbagy’s professional life has been dedicated to the children of Jasper County, having joined the school system as a science teacher in 1981.

He has a science degree from Cairo University and a masters of science education from Georgia College.

Through the years, he has coached recreation soccer, been an active member of Kiwanis, manned the gate at Monticello Hurricane home football games and taught hundreds of students physical science and physics.

The retirement celebration will include a slideshow and more information about Mr. El-Jourbagy’s long career in education and participation in the community. All former students, co-workers and community members are invited to the middle eastern-themed reception.
