SPRING FLING/MARKET ON THE SQUARE

The Monticello Square was a happening place Saturday as Dr. Lyndsy Holman with Heartland Clinic of Chiropractic sponsored a “spring fling” in conjunction with the opening day of the Market on the Square. In addition, the Methodist men had a chickenque on the Square, making it the place to be Saturday.

Visitors could buy fresh produce, flowers, fried pies, plants, home-baked goods, canned goods, handcrafted jewelry, quilts, and lots more. In addition, the spring fling featured numerous booths including Thirty-One, Pampered Chef, Avon, Origami Owl, Mary Kay, M.D. HVAC, Moontime Creations, Jasper County School Nutrition, Countryside Animal Clinic, Red Cross, the chiropractor herself, Jasper Memorial Hospital and others.

In addition, Dr. Holman held a raffle for several items with proceeds benefitting Les Steele, and nearly $150 was raised. There was a bounce house for the children, and great musical entertainment by Brian Cagle, Gannon Adams, and others throughout the event.

The Market on the Square will continue every Saturday through September from 8 a.m. to noon. For information on the MOTS, or any activity on the Square, interested persons may contact Cissy Benton, executive director of the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce, 706-468-8994, or at jasperchamber@bellsouth.net.
