Probationer Is Re-Arrested

Quantez Demond Jackson, 27, of Monticello was arrested on June 9 after a traffic stop for speeding, by a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) on Hwy 11 South at Clay Tillman Road.

Upon making contact with Mr. Jackson suspected Hydrocodone was found to be lying on the center console and a quantity of marijuana was discovered in his pants. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, drugs not in original container, possession of marijuana less than one ounce and speeding.

Mr. Jackson was convicted in November of 2011 of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. At that time he was sentenced to 10 years with five years to serve in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. At this time Mr. Jackson remains in the county jail on a probation hold.

The JCSO also reported investigating two reports of burglary during the last week. Anyone with information concerning these or any other criminal activity are encouraged to call the anonymous tips at the JCSO (706-468-JCSO):

•On June 9 a resident on Blue Heron Drive reported the theft of $40 in change.

•On June 4 a resident on Hwy 142 East reported the theft of unnamed property valued at $4,200.

Also, during the period of June 3-10 the JCSO reported the following arrests:

•William Dean Chitwood, 54, Blairsville—probation violation.

•Joseph Paul Williamson, 41, Dahlonega—probation violation.

O’neal Green, 54, Shady Dale—open container, failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Chadwick John Slater, 18, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than one ounce and operation of an off-road vehicle on roadway.

•Kent Anthony Miller, 30, Hillsboro—possession of marijuana less than one ounce and failure to signal.

•Torri Bernard McKissie, 43, Conyers—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

•Terico Miquan Sands, 32, Monticello—hold for warrant in Henry County.

•Brandon Wayne Herdon, 21, Bethleham—probation violation.

•Gregory Scott Phillips, 32, Mansfield—probation violation.

•David Spencer Pickett, 20, Monticello—probation violation.

•Andres Garcia Serna, 43, Shady Dale—driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Jonathan Matthew Tallent, 21, Covington—driving while license suspended or revoked.

•Brandon Taylor Ramsey, 34, Newborn—simple battery and cruelty to children in the third degree.

•Emma Jean Moore, 53, Forsyth—financial identity fraud and theft by taking.

During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 279 calls for service including 108 checking location, 66 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 10 alarm, six each livestock on road and pick up prisoner/subject, five each accident and assist motorist, four each theft by taking, juvenile complaint and road hazard, three each mechanical break down and chase in progress.

Also, two each fight, escort or convoy, welfare check, four wheeler, argument, attempt to serve warrant and lost property, one each burglary, subject with firearms, speeding auto, courtesy ride, intoxicated driver, special detail, laceration, miscellaneous ems, overdose, assault, counterfeit, vehicle accident with pedestrian, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls, trespassing, persons refuse to leave, vgcsa and 911 hang up.

Also during the period mentioned above the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:

•Willie Lee McGuire, III, 24, Monticello—probation violation.

•Tony Earl Jacobs, 40, Covington—hold for warrant at Covington Police Department.

•Shannon Raquel Robinson, 23, Monticello—false report of a crime and simple battery.

During this period officers with the MPD also responded to 69 calls for service including 27 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, four each alarm, escort or convoy, subject needs officer, private property and argument, three each accident, domestic, welfare check, music/noise complaint and vandalism of property, two theft by taking, one each assist motorist, mechanical break down, direct traffic and checking location.

In addition, during the period referenced above the Georgia State Patrol reported the arrest of Latonya Hallman, 43, of Shady Dale, and charged her with possession of a controlled substance, failure to maintain lane, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs/less safe, drugs to be kept in original container and tire violation.
