Pam Edge Is Primary School Principal

Jasper County School Board members met for an executive session on personnel in a called meeting Tuesday night, and subsequently voted for Pam Edge to become the new Principal at Jasper County Primary School. Also, taking her current position as Assistant Principal at Jasper County High School from teacher is Buddy Cain.

Other new hires include Ashley Ryals, teacher at Jasper County Primary School (JCPS)/Pre-K; Maria Myers Brown, teacher at Washington Park Elementary School (WPES); Bonnie Garvin, teacher, Jasper County Middle School (JCMS); Tina Daniel Reasey, counselor, Jasper County Middle School (JCMS)/High School (JCHS); Brandon Williams, custodian, JCHS; William Thomas, alternative school teacher and head boys basketball coach, JCHS; Ethan Huff, alternative school paraprofessional, JCHS; and Chad Malcom, teacher, JCHS.

The resignations of Chelen Strickland, teacher, WPES; and Mona Jones, JCMS School Food Nutrition Manager were accepted also during Tuesday’s meeting.

Other transfers include Joan Arnold to full-time paraprofessional at WP; and Eunice Blackmon, to teacher at WP.

They also voted to approve the retirement of Joanne Miller from the Jasper County Board of Education, Headstart/School Food Service as of June 30, 2014.

The board will meet for its regular monthly meeting next Tuesday, June 17 at 7 p.m. in the board meeting room. Board members will meet at 3 p.m. for training with the regular meeting to follow.
