Bikes & Barks Ride Benefits Forgotten Dogs

A “Bikes and Barks” fund raiser to benefit the “forgotten dogs of Jasper County” will be held Saturday, July 26.

The morning will begin with registration from 9 to 11 a.m., and at 11 a police escort ride through the Oconee National Forest will begin. When the bikers return, the non-bikers join them at Stars and Stripes Restaurant and Bar, 422 Venture Ct., Monticello where there will be music, vendors, an auction and raffles.

The cost to participate is $25 per rider which includes a t-shirt, and passengers can purchase a shirt for $10.

The after-ride festivities are expected to begin about 1 p.m.

Vendors are still being sought for the day, and donations are being sought to help raise funds for the Animal Control center.

In addition, persons attending that day are encouraged to bring donations of cat and dog toys, flea and tick prevention, leashes, collars, and any other pet oriented supplies they might wish to donate.

Bikers can register for the ride at www.rescuemega.org. For more information, contact Sheila Fielding, 706-819-2205 or e-mail her at sheila@rescuemega.org.
