School Starts August 8

Students in Jasper County public schools and Shiloh Christian Academy will return to class on Friday, Aug. 8, and those at Piedmont Academy return Monday, Aug. 11.

School supply lists for all schools are on their respective websites, and those for the public schools are included on page 11 of today’s newspaper.

In addition, students new to Jasper County Middle School (incoming sixth graders) are encouraged to attend a family orientation tomorrow, Aug. 1, from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. at the school at 1289 College Street.

New freshmen are encouraged to attend Jump Start Orientation at Jasper County High School, 14477 Hwy. 11 North, next Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.

Open house for the public schools will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, with the pre-kindergarten through fifth grades hosting families from 4 to 6 p.m., and the middle school and high school from 5 to 7 p.m.

Jasper County Primary School and Washington Park Elementary School are both located on Hwy. 212, about a miles west of the downtown Square. The board office may be reached at 706-468-6350.
