HOMES ARE LOST

Two homes in Jasper County were destroyed by fire in the last week. The top photo shows the old Dumas homeplace in Hillsboro that burned early Sunday morning, possibly caused by a lightning strike.

The bottom photo shows a home on County Line Road that burned Tuesday morning. The fire appeared to have started around the dryer. Both homes are likely a total loss, with the County Line Road one incurring much water damage in addition to the fire damage.
