Marie Brooks Moody

Marie Brooks Moody, age 60, of Monticello, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, at Hospice Atlanta.

Marie Moody was born in Indianapolis, Ind., and moved to Monticello, Ga., a year ago. Her mother was the late Delores Ann Rose Brooks. She was a member of Ritter Avenue Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis; and attended the Monticello Presbyterian Church.

She was a self-employed pastry chef. She also was a former executive secretary for the American Heart Association and former secretary for the First Indiana Bank in Indiana.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Rich Moody of Monticello; father and step-mother, Gerald and Dee Brooks of Winter Haven, Fla.; son and fiancé, Matthew and Ronda Moody of Cortland, N.Y.; grandchildren, Rose Moody and George Moody of Monticello; and sisters and brother-in law, Abbie Brooks and Al Verheggen of Monticello; and Ruth Baehr of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Barbara Brooks of Indianapolis, Ind.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Indianapolis, Ind.
