Cougar Shotgun Team Begins Season

Piedmont Academy’s shotgun team will begin its new season Saturday during a competition at Ocmulgee River Gun Club in Macon. Stratford and Windsor are the host schools for the event.

Members of the 2014 Piedmont team include seniors Payden Cantera, Morgan Tillman and Alex Perry; juniors Hunter Whiting and Mike Weatherly; sophomores Joseph Anderson and Zach Sanders; freshmen Kevin Davis, Mitch Marsh, Anne Marie Hildebrandt and Andrew Chapko and eighth graders Kade Mitcham and Logan Conner.

Members of the 2014 junior varsity team include Blake Calhoun, Garret King, Eli Waits, Owen Brady, Caleb Coffey, Browning Benton, Hagan Hinson and Booker Holifield.

Following this weekend’s competition, Piedmont will compete at Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds in Atlanta on September 27 in an event hosted by Trinity Christian School of Sharpsburg. Two additional regular season shoots will be held prior to the state competition in Savannah December 5-6.

Piedmont is once again coached by Brian Marsh this season.
