MS Cougars Win

The Piedmont Academy Middle School football team tasted victory last week with a 14-0 win against Central Fellowship in a game at Cougar Field.

For coach Alvin Hawkes and the Cougars, it was a sign that hard work was paying off.

“It was a good win for us,” the coach said. “We played a good game. However, there are still some things we need to correct. Our defense played well for the most part, especially our front.

Offensively, we moved the football well the entire game.”

Owen Brady, Connor Olson and Dalton Whitley all had long runs during the win. Olson and Whitley scored touchdowns for the Cougars. Whitley also scored a two-point conversion.

The win improved the Middle School Cougars to 1-2 for the 2014 season. Piedmont is scheduled to travel to Windsor in Macon today, Sept. 25 for a 6 p.m. contest.
