JCHS Has Homecoming Festivities

Kolby DeGarmo was crowned Homecoming Queen and Brandi McMichael was crowned Miss Hurricane at the annual homecoming festivities Friday evening for Jasper County High School. Jamyer Sands was named first-runner.

Members of the court were Jessi Caron, Regan Duke, Shelby Parrish, Anna Parker, Elizabeth Finger, Kolby DeGarmo, Brandi McMichael, Jamyer Sands, Briana Boyer, Madison Reese, Morgan Stokes, Zoe Arena, Shalea Bishop, Rileigh Evans and Jace DeGarmo.

Xavier Gude was crowned “Mr. JCHS” by Miss Hurricane Brandi McMichael during the pep rally on Friday afternoon, after competing in the pageant the week before.

As part of homecoming spirit week, each grade level competed for “the most spirited class” by participating in various dress-up days and contests. Ultimately, the junior class was presented the coveted “Spirit Stick” for its outstanding spirit throughout the week and in the pep rally.

“Overall this was a great week for us at JCHS,” said principal Mrs. Robyn Mullis. “The students showed spirit each day by dressing appropriately for the dress-up days, and then that spirit and pride carried over into the homecoming ceremony Friday night. We had the best pep rally we’ve had since I’ve been here and I’m so proud of our student body.”

The students culminated the week’s activities with a homecoming dance on Saturday evening.
