Contest Winner Gets 13 Right

Last week’s football contest featured no high school games, since the local schools were both off, and that may have made it a bit tougher for some contest players. After all, the contest is designed to be fair, whether the player’s preference is high school, college, or professional.
Whatever the reason, only one player, Turkey Holland, managed to correctly guess the winner in as many as 13 games listed in last week’s contest. He missed only on Florida’s loss to Missouri, and Seattle’s loss to St. Louis.
For his effort, he picked up a $25 prize from Tony Lewis of Lewis & Malone Heating/AC Service, Inc., sponsor of the week.
Four more players made the weekly honor roll for correctly guessing the winner of 12 games listed. They include John Braden, Cameron Mobley, David Wease and Robyn Vaughn.
This week the local high schools return to action, and although Georgia has an off week, there will be plenty of college and professional action as well. Whoever guesses the winner of the most games listed will pick up a $25 prize from Lewis BP, sponsor of the week.
Remember, anyone can play, and anyone can win. It’s important to write legibly, and imperative to have your entry submitted to The News office no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Oct. 24. Contest is on page 12.
And, anyone who gets 12 or more right will have his or her name added to the Grand Prize Honor Roll for a four tickets to the Chick-fil-A/Peach Bowl in Atlanta. The winner of that drawing will be chosen in December. Each time a player gets 12 or more right, she or he gets another chance at the grand prize.
