Deer Festival

This big buck appears to be looking for something….is it the 48th annual Jasper County Deer Festival, that is being held this Saturday, Nov. 1, beginning with a fun run at 7:30 a.m., and continuing with a 5k race, arts and crafts exhibits, parade, food, games, and entertainment until 5 p.m.? This buck may not make it to the festival, but thousands of people are expected to gather on the Monticello Square Saturday. And there will be awards for hunters who killed the biggest buck, one with the most points, and the youngest successful hunter. Greetings to the visitors, and a preview of the day’s festivities is included in the special section inside today’s paper.
