Missy Braden Wins Contest

TECH FAN WES CROWE PRESENTS PRIZE TO GEORGIA FAN MISSY BRADEN

In what turned out to be another tough football contest week, only four players correctly guessed the winner in as many as 12 games listed last week.

Of those, Missy Braden guessed the highest tie-breaker of 50 to win the contest, and collect a $25 prize from Wes Crowe at Covington Ford. Mrs. Braden, a Georgia fan, had not yet watched the game when she collected her prize from Mr. Crowe Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Braden has been a faithful player of the contest since moving to Monticello many years ago. Both her children graduated from both Piedmont Academy and the University of Georgia. Her husband, John, is a Tech fan. Mrs. Braden has won the contest before, but this year her husband has made the Grand Prize Honor Roll more times than she has.

The other players who had 12 right, but guessed a lower tie-breaker score were Caren Cargile, Carole Norris, and Pat Bruno. Seventy-seven points wre scored in the tie-breaker game, with Piedmont losing to Memorgial Day, 42-35.

This week is the last week to get entered in the grand prize drawing. It’s also the last week to win a $25 weekly prize, and it will be presented next week by Hamilton State Bank, sponsor of the week.

So, sharpen your pencils, and maybe your wits; study the odds, or play with your heart. It’s bound to be tough with playoff games, but the great thing is…anyone can play and anyone can win. Who will be the lucky one?

To have a chance, your contest entry must be at The Monticello News no later than 5 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 5, or fax to 706-468-6576.
