Holidays Necessitate Early Deadlines

The Monticello News will publish the next two editions of the newspaper a day early because of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

Therefore, subscribers will receive next week’s paper in their mailbox on Christmas eve, and those who buy it at the store can get it Tuesday evening.

The same thing will happen the following week, as both Thursdays are holidays.

Many businesses will close early Christmas eve, and remain closed Christmas day, and some are taking the day after, as well.

Government offices are scheduled to be closed Christmas eve and Christmas day.

The Monticello News office will be open Christmas eve, 8:30 a.m. to noon, and closed until Monday, Dec. 29.

The News office will be moving to its new home next door, 247 West Washington Street, beginning today, Dec. 18. It may be difficult to reach us, so if no one answers the business line, 706-468-6511, feel free to call Kathy Mudd, editor, on her cell phone, 706-318-7396.

All ads and articles for next week’s paper need to be submitted as early as possible, and definitely no later than noon, Monday, Dec. 22. We apologize in advance for any confusion and difficulty reaching us while we move.
