Two Arrested After Drugs Found

On the morning of December 18, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Squad team executed a search warrant at 31 Sanders Heights. The warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in Jasper County.

Three adults and three young children were found inside the dwelling. While searching the residence an amount of crack cocaine and marijuana were located in a toddler’s bedroom slipper inside the child’s bedroom. Additional amounts of narcotics were located in other parts of the residence.

Quantez Jackson and Samantha Fleming were both arrested on scene at the home. Both were charged with possession of cocaine w/ intent to distribute, possession of marijuana w/intent to distribute, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance,

possession of marijuana, and reckless conduct. Mr. Jackson was also charged with one count of sale of cocaine.

In other incidents during the past week, deputies recovered a vehicle that was reported stolen from Rockdale County. A call about a suspicious vehicle in the area in the north end of the county is what prompted investigation.

Two people on Bonner Street reported burglaries at their homes.

One was the theft of money, and the other was theft of a handgun.

A resident near Shady Dale reported the theft or forgery of a check, and a resident in Turtle Cove said a delivered package was stolen from his home. Residents are reminded to be vigilant about protecting their homes and not leaving packages out for criminals to see. This resident learned the hard way what happens when packages are left at the door.
