Man Is Sentenced To 20 Years
James Edward Cole was sentenced to 20 years each, with five to serve, on three charges of aggravated child molestation, and one charge of child molestation. The sentences run concurrently.
In addition, Mr. Cole is to pay $2,000 fine, and when released to probation will be subject to special sex offender parameters.
The action came during a criminal motion day in Jasper County Superior Court Tuesday, with Judge E. Trenton Brown, presiding.
William Harris Anderson was sentenced to six years each on two counts of sale of methamphetamine, with the sentences to run concurrently, and be served on probation. He also must pay a fine of $2,000.
Both the above cases are felony cases.
Mark Dewayne Digby was sentenced to 12 months, to be served on probation and $600 fine as a negotiated plea on charges of driving while license suspended, giving false information to a law enforcement officer, no proof of insurance, and no tag.
Melvin Dennis was also sentenced to 12 months, to be served on probation, for the charge of driving while license suspended. He was also fined $500.
Another misdemeanor case was that of four counts of deposit account fraud against Melissa Sherae Moon. She was sentenced to 12 months on two counts and then another 12 months on another two counts, for a total of 24 months probation and a $400 fine.
In other action in Jasper Superior Court Tuesday, Mark Wayne Britt, Jr. had his probation modified. He has 30 days to pay $1,316.66, and if he fails to pay it the remainder of his probated sentence will be revoked to the Jasper County Jail.
Daniel Kipp Smith has 60 days to pay $600. If he fails to do so, he must turn himself in to the Jasper County Jail where he will stay for 30 days, and upon release return to regular probation.
Alexandria Brooks must pay $370 within one week, and if she does not, she will be required to spend 15 days in the Jasper County Jail, at which time her case will be terminated. If she pays the fine, she will remain on probation.
In addition to the probation revocation/modifications, and the please taken in court Tuesday, several civil cases were heard.
